Geology is the field in which you be the part of wide range of earth related issues such as environmental protection,resource management, mineral and oil exploration and so on.
The basic criteria for applying to a master degree in geology is passing the graduation degree with the required subject with a minimum of 50% marks. The duration of masters is two years.
Various career options -
Working for the organizations like geological Survey of India, coal India, Oil and natural gas corporation, Mineral Exploration Authority, Hindustan Zinc, etc.
Geologists In defence and para military sectors
Students who study geology can later on move on to the courses such as
Paleontology, Geophysics, mining environmental education, petrology, etc
Can become Geographers, oceonographers, Geologists, Seismologist, processing geophysicist, Researchers and many more.

The career aspects are very bright after MSC in Geology. You can give Combined Geoscientist and Geologist Examination conducted by UPSC every year. There are more than 50 PSU's in India where you can get a job by getting a good rank in GATE. Qualifying CSIR NET Exam and doing PhD is also a good option if you want to pursue a career in Academics.
