You haven't mentioned the branch in which you are willing to apply for in Anna University. In 2018 its nearly 20 - 23 marks for EEE and 30 marks for mechanical. If ur gate marks is 8–12 marks more the general cuttoff then surely u will get a seat in Anna University.

If your rank is under 7000 then you can apply in Anna University. One more condition is there as the seats offered will be slightly less as compared to TANCET.
