Are Nios students will be eligible for NEET 2023 Examination?
NEET 2024: Cutoff (OBC, SC, ST & General Category)
NEET 2024 Admission Guidance: Personalised | Study Abroad
NEET 2025: Syllabus | Most Scoring concepts | NEET PYQ's (2015-24)
As of nowNIOS board students are eligible for Neet examination, so if we go with it then you will be eligible for neet 2023.
This is because,
Eligibility of students from NIOS and other open boards is inSupreme Court but until the supreme court gives its judgement ,students of nios andall otherrecognised open boards are eligible for Neet examination provided they fulfillNeet eligibility criteria provided below :-
Neet eligibility criteria says that to be eligible you must be either appearing for 12th examination or should have passed 12th examination with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English and must have got:-
- at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category
- at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to Obc/ Sc/St
- at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.
So, if you meet this criteria then with your qualification you are eligible for Neet examination even if you are from NIOS
IMPORTANT NOTE :- Eligibility of students from NIOS and other open boards is inSupreme Court and for NEET 2023 it's still 2 years left so in the meanwhile if Supreme Court gives its judgement and then the eligibility of nios and other open boards will completely the depend on the outcome of the judgement.
So, to be on the safer side I would suggest you to pursue 12th from a regular board instead of open board.
Also,
* to be eligible for neet 2021 one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December of the year of examination
* There is no upper age limit for Neet as of now.
* There's no limit for the maximum number of attempts/times one can appear in NEET.

I have passed 12th from maharashtra boards in 2020 and got 45% PCB and I come in general Category so to get 50%In PCB for neet eligibility I gave class improvement and got the same marks and then got to kbow that my chances of giving 12th from maha boards has been lost so instead of giving 12th from another state I thought of giving NIOS exam for neet eligibilty now if I give nios what is the %of state quota I will get for medical addmission?
I would also like to ask if there is another way to get 50% in pcb through maharashtra boards as to fulfil the neet eligibiltyy criteria?
I would reallllly thankful if you could ans this as soon as possible?
Leaving my email here if you could contact and give the best further advice?
