Yes these subjects are necessary according to the eligibility criteria for the Bsc in Geology. One need to have good marks along with the subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology or/and Maths.

the basic eligibility criteria for b.sc in geology is candidates need to pass Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent qualification from a recognized educational Board, with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and/ or Mathematics as a subject. qualifying marks criteria may differ college to college. however I Have Given a link of calcutta university syllabus for 3 years bsc in geology course, from this you may get some idea about subjects available in geology course,
