Hi aspirant
See you need to understand a very basic concept doesn't matter for which exam you are appearing. Previous year questions won't guarantee you 140+ marks but without them you won't score 140+ either, why.? Because previous year question papers are there to anaylse what kind of questions the exam might be asking you. They help you to study in a proper direction. It's like knowing your enemy's way of fighting, if you understand its way then you will certainly be able to defeat it.
Hence long story short, do practice PYQs but not for scoring 140+ rather for analysing the way 'how your enemy fights'.
Why I am eligible to say all of this, as I too have gone by the same road and this advice was given to us by our physics teacher, he told us to practice as many PYQs as possible so that we can analyse ourselves what might be the exam asking and c urrently I am studying in IIT Roorkee.
