Dear Student,
There are always many sides to look at an answer before reaching to a conclusion.
Bad:
Conclusion: In the end BIT leaves you on your own to achieve what you want to just like a college should do to a gonnabe graduate. I have loved this freedom as i think i can make good use of it. This is the very essence of graduation, one has to stop being spoon feeded and take the best out of him/her.
Hope this answer is able to quench your curiosity.

There are always many sides to look at an answer before reaching to a conclusion.
Bad:
- Poor Infrastructure: You don't get the quality of infrastructure the main campus students will get and for your own good, you need to sink in this fact as soon as you enter the college.
- Small Batch Size: Now i will use this point in the good points aswell but if you are looking for a campus crowded with people and you want to have that one in a million feel which big private universities have in offer, this is not the place for you, simply because of lesser courses offered here(In B.E. here at Jaipur they have CS,ECE and EEE branches only).
- No hostel facility: This is a dissapointment for many students who come to study here with the dreams of Good Hostel Life, though BIT provides a list of PG/Flats available near the campus.
- Reputation: You get a degree of BIT, Mesra and no where in your degree would be mentioned that you are a Off-Campus student. There is no need to brag about BITs reputation in recruiters but to highlight a few
- Vast alumni base of the institution as it is among the oldest private engineering colleges in India.(Established 1955)
- Globally, BITian's head more than 120 companies.
- Recently a BITian won Oscar for Animation in Zootopia.
- Has been in among the top private colleges since it's inception.
- Placements: This a major deciding factor among aspiring students as to what kind of placements they are most likely to get after engineering from a college. You have this option to go to the main campus for placements where you compete head to head with the main campus students without any difference on the basis of campus. Also, here i would say the small batch strength helps a lot. In universities that have thousands of students who get placed in a mass recruiter for a fixed compensation and you need to be extra-ordinary to bag that dream package, here due to smaller batch size, the probability to bag a dream job increases. Just simple Math. Now, coming to the facts there have been students bagging multiple offers and companies like Samsung R&D, SAP Labs, Amdocs and Verizon have recruited engineers this year with compensations more than those of the mass recruiters, many startups have also offered delicious compensations. In the recent years Coding Culture has also increased courtesy to an active coding club fuctioning in the college, students go to competitions like the ACM-ICPC or GSOC. Also, core companies visit the campus every year to hire students unlike this trend of Mass Recruiters absorbing students from all streams and someone say from Electrical has to settle with an IT job offer.
- Future prospects after engineering: One should understand that placements are a part and not the sole criteria to select a college. Only this year 4 students have scored 98+ percentile score in CAT and are waiting for the results of GD/PI. In recent years, students were selected for MS program in big universities like Cornell, University of California San Diego, University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign to name some. This year a senior got AIR 108 in GATE (EEE).
- Highly Qualified Teachers: Teachers are paid as per the sixth-pay commission of the GOI. Clearly they only take those with high academic qualifications and not just hire some engineering college graduate to teach. Also it finally depends on you that upto what extent are you able to extract from the teacher.
- Student-Friendly TimeTable: Unlike other colleges who have classes from 8 to 6 six days a week, BIT has classes from 8:50 to 3:30, 4:20 max and 5 days a week, Saturday and Sunday off having said that there is no extra class. It's better to have all the classes together than to have gaps of 1 or 2 hours in between which unnecessarily makes you feel tired. There are students who work on the weekends to cover their expense or learn a new skill.
- Location: BIT Mesras Jaipur Extension Centre is in Malviya Nagar, which is a posh area in Jaipur with a lot of Industries aswell for internship opportunities. It is in the main city unlike other colleges that far away from the city so connectivity, social spots are never far away from you. Infact World Trade Park, the biggest mall of Jaipur is just 2 KMS away from the campus.
Conclusion: In the end BIT leaves you on your own to achieve what you want to just like a college should do to a gonnabe graduate. I have loved this freedom as i think i can make good use of it. This is the very essence of graduation, one has to stop being spoon feeded and take the best out of him/her.
