Hello Aspirant,
IITs are the best Institutes in the nation for pursuing Engineering and related courses. While Stanford University is one of the best universities in the world for pursuing any course. Stanford University is a university that lies in top 5 universities of the world while IITs have a ranking of more than 150, some more than 200.
If you exclude the expenditure, which is caused by the difference in Indian Rupee and US Dollar, Stanford is much better than IITs.
