For getting into foreign universities, students are generally required to maintain /build up a good portfolio showcasing their grades, extra curricular activities and social work from 9th to 12th grades. some universities give scholarships based on an excellent portfolio. Other colleges ask you to write a 1000-2000 words essay on the topics chosen by them or on the topic “why do you deserve this scholarship“. These essays are a deciding factor for your scholarship.

If you are planning to study in the US, you can fill out the CSS form if you want financial aid but international students can only get aid in private colleges in the US so make a mental note of that.

On the other hand, if you’re planning to study in UK, most colleges there provide scholarship based on your performance in the first year so mostly you won’t be getting any scholarship until you’re in the second year.

Well, the answer to your question is YES. There are sufficient scholarships, for study abroad, for ug students, especially Indians, the only thing is you should deserve them.

You have to prove this by qualifying in several exams. Since you are talking about UG, SAT is the first option for you. Get a good score in SAT, and you can avail scholarship up to 100% on tuition fee. The scholarship will vary from college to college and country to country, the opportunities will be more in countries such as the UK, US, Canada, Australia, etc.

Another exam is AP, which stands for Advanced placements.  It is basically for admission into Us and Canadian universities. You can even complete your graduation early through this test as the test provide you with advance credits, that will reduce your burden in college.

Another test is ACT- http://www.act.org/content/act/en/products-and-services/the-act.html this test is specifically for US universities. Through this you may earn a scholarship of up to $40000.

MCAT is specifically for medical fields.

Apart from these, there are several other scholarship exams conducted by the government, but the seats under that are extremely less, and it is very difficult to get through them.
