Greetings!
Hope you're doing great.
That's a really good question. I'm from a journalism background and really think it doesn't really matter. It depends on your inclination for a particular subject. If you like reading literature, history and an avid reader of fiction books then English is your calling. However, if you admire to explore around the world, day to day happening, having a soft corner for social, economic and political issues and its impact on the society then Journalism is for you.
Creative writing as a field of choice doesn't depend on any particular undergraduate specialization. I've seen people from the professional course who left their full-time job to work as a content creator or strategist. So your undergraduate subject should be your area of interest rather than based on future job opportunities it holds.
Hope things are clear now. Do reach out in the comment section below if you've any doubt.
Cheers!
English Honours is more about literature whereas journalism is based on the current events. Forging into journalism will be more beneficial as a content writer as you will have plenty of opportunity to create articles on your own way and style.
