Dear Ajit, this 10% hike in seats is due to EWS reservation. The MCI has instructed the Medical Colleges to send a proposal by May 15th regarding inplementation of EWS reservation in their respective colleges to accomodate 10% EWS registration. So the colleges have to come up with a plan as how they will improve their facilities and accomodate this reservation. So May 15th was the last date for submitting the proposals. The MCI will go through the proposals and take a decision accordingly.
