As read on the website, GK section marks are not included in the total percentile for MAT. So will the negative marking of GK section affect the overall paper or not

Hi...
While themarksof theGK sectionarenotconsidered while calculating the MAT percentile, however, a number of MAT institutions consider candidate'sGKscore in the second round. Further, a few B-Schools accepting MAT scores have sectional cutoffs forGK. Thus, you will do wellnotto take thissectionlightly.
The GK Section in MAT is not counted for final percentile or composite score calculation. However you will get an edge during the GD/PI process, if you have a decent score in MAT GK Section.

Hey,

It's true that the GK section is not included in the MAT exam for calculating the percentile of a student. But it is still important. The GK marks Or percentile is used to select students in second round of selection. For few colleges which accepts the MAT score usually set a minimum GK percentile in their selection criteria while shortlisting the candidate. So a low score in GK might hamper your admission.

So do focus on your GK section as well and try to score as much as possible.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.
