There are 31NITs and 24 IIITs which offer ECE stream to aspiring students.As all NITs and IIITs are not equal so closing rank for ECE stream for each NITs and IIITs vary sharply.If you are interested in top NITs and IIITs then you will have to score rank under 10k in general category for having such rank you need percentile 99+.For medium rank NITs and IIITs you need rank under 15k and for having seats in ECE stream in lower rank NITs and IIITs you need rank under 30k in general category.
Above closing rank of NITs and IIITs are mentioned considering other state quota and general category rank..

NIT and IIT institutes are one of the most sought after educational hubs in the country.
The seats available varies every year but is expected to be in the 10000 range for Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
For NIT's, (EEE)
The expected rank is determined by the no. Of students answering the exam and the no. Of students qualifying. However, the percentile to get into NIT is expected to be in the 78-81% and 82% above for direct admissions.
For IIT's (EEE)
The expected percentile is 80-82% and above for direct admissions.
Keep in mind these vary every year but keeping you percentile above 77% is more likely to get you into these institutions.
