At which vertebral level does the jugular notch lie
Hi,
Jugular notch also known as fossa sternalis jugularis , lies between top of the sternum and between the two clavicle and articulations. Jugular notch is present at the vertibral level T2- 3. The top of manubrium In the sternum ( manubrium is the largest of sternum ) it has a shallow U shaped dip.this dip is jugular notch.
Hope it helps.
Good luck. :)
The upper border of the manubrium is marked by the jugular notch, which is easily palpable and is usually at the level of the T3 vertebrae. On each side of this is a notch for the medial end of the clavicle. The first costal cartilage is attached to the side of the manubrium.
Goodluck I hope this helps you
