Dear Shagun,
In order to qualify for AIIMS examination, a minimum of 50% is required for a candidate belonging to the general category.
There are a total of 200 questions which include both objective-type as well as reason assertion-type questions. The questions are divided as follows:
1) 60 questions from Physics
2) 60 questions from Chemistry
3) 60 questions from Biology
4) 20 questions from General Knowledge
Each question carries 1 mark, therefore leading to a total of 200 marks. However, 1/3 marks will be deducted for each question answered incorrectly.
Therefore, since 50% is the minimum marks to obtain in the entrance examination and each question carries 1 mark, I would recommend you to answer at least 130 questions taking into account the negative marking that you might receive for invalid answers in order to give yourself a good chance to qualify.
Hope this helps. Cheers!
