It was established in 1933 and was granted deemed university status in 2008 (An autonomous status in 1994), making it the only state-funded deemed university in India.
2. College of engineering, Pune (SPPU 1)
It was established in 1854 and An autonomy was granted in 2003. It is affiliated to Savitribai phule pune university. It has been accredited by NBA (Washington accord) for its UG course. I have been told that it is going to become deemed to be university this academic year.
