It entirely depends on what dimension you're looking for.



Both architecture and engineering belong to completely different sets of interests and skills. B.arch and b tech are as separated as fashion designing and say, law. The curriculum of 5 year course of b.arch gives you special insight into what is known as father of all art forms



My suggestion to you is not dragging yourself to a place where your interest won't follow. Its more like choosing something you might regret for the rest of your life.



No course is better than the other, but my friend you surely are better at one thing than other.



Keeping this aside, if we look at both the courses,



Architecture as a course is very practical and beautifully designed. You'll enjoy it very much if your interest grows. Architecture is all around us.



You'll find people with an edge over others. Obviously, design courses have people with more established thought process.



Finding a job or merely surviving in the industry is easier as compared to b.arch. But then, mere survival is intimidating.



After doing architecture, keeping up either the pace is much in need. After all, world is changing every single day.



To sum it all up, architecture as a course is a better investment of time only if you're interested. Else, you'll find many loathing and regretting their decisions, running aimlessly.
