B.pharm ,is degree course in pharmacy which is concerned with manufacturing and despensing and sales of medicine against the prescription of qualified doctor. But BAMS is a graduate course in Ayurvedic medicine and surgery, which is five and half years course.Well after completing the course you can become a qualified doctor in Ayurveda and can practice as Ayurvedic doctor or you can get job in hospital as Ayurvedic physician. I personally don't recommend BAMS degree because if you do BAMS you can be registered doctor, but without hereditary background you can't treat the patient of what you learnt in your degree. Now we are in scientific era so I would recommend B.Pharm. still if you want you can study BAMS and be assistant to MBBS doctor for some three or four years and practice modern allopathic medicine in the Ayurvedic name.
If you want to have Dr preceding your name go for BAMS. You are given an opportunity in most of the hospitals to work as a duty doctor. With B.pharma you can expect yourself dispensing medicines in the same hospital.
Looking from the industry perspective opportunities are more for B.pharma . If you are very strong in your academics and want to pursue PhD it is always a good option to learn chemistry. With BAMS you can carry out research in natural products. So identify your strengths choose your interest. Hope this helps you.
