Hello Dishika, thanks for reaching to us.
Every stream has its pro and cons.
BDS is a respectable course but it is moving fast towards saturation if you are willing to do hard work and want to be a doctor go for BDS. If you want to settle abroad after BDS then you need to give qualifying exam and upgrade your degree which is very costly
B Pharma is a good course, Graduates who do not wish to pursue post-graduate studies or plan on doing them later try to get jobs after B.Pharm. Jobs are usually offered in the field of sales and marketing. Some also work as pharmacists in hospitals whereas some are able to secure jobs at manufacturing facilities of pharmaceutical companies. Some also set up their own pharmacy.
If you want to work as a psychologist, you should at least be a post-graduate/ master in Psychology. This is the requirement everywhere. With just a bachelors in Psychology, you are open to any kind of graduate level job openings in the market which accepts students from any discipline.
Psychology is the study of how the mind (or psyche) works. To pursue the career of a psychologist, one should have a genuine desire to understand and help other human beings along with at least a master’s degree.
Hii Dishika
If
you go for BDS you are stuck with a medical knowledge but you only
master the 32 teeths and some bones. And when you graduate people will
regard you dentist, not doctor. The story doesn't ends here, you are
given two broad overcrowded highways, Clinical practice or MDS and both
inccure huge toll tax at the commencement of journey. Their are some
sidewalks like public health, clinical research, hospital management
which are quicker still asks for serious commitment.
If in India,
A dental graduate should open clinic in rural areas. (My personal view)
It pays same as of urban setup with less competition. If you want to go
with MDS, well dive in at your own risk.
So for the dentist the road is broad but overcrowded with few bypasses and some service lanes.
Now Pharma D, how much attractive the name appears, it's a rebranded B Pharma with icing.
The roads are narrow, and crowded but you have multiple roads to choose with n number of bypasses.
Open
a Chemist shop, work a medical representative (shinny name for sales
guy). Go for M Pharma and join drug makers as researchers, toxicologist.
Plan for abroad PhD in any Pharma subject. You have various options.
But this is just the the shinny surface, deep down their is low wages,
heavy competition and less respect than doctors (Atleast in India)
I
suggest don't compare these two, just give a really deep thought on
what you want in future, where your interest sparks and choose.
Hope this helps.
