If you are not interested in your subject, you can surely switch streams but the problem would be to crack the entrance examinations. You have to prepare another subject's syllabus and also cope with it in the masters. Cross-stitching of course in masters is allowed in most universities. You can also consider to do an MBA, law or prepare for govt exams etc.
