Bro..There is no fix rankwise system to get admitted in BHU nevertheless you have to obtain the minimum cut off marks prescribed by university. Suppose, in my time in 2017 there was 200 for the history as honors, and 220 for geography as same, 190 for political science as honors. At the time of counselling you are given with a preference entry form in which you have to enter the subject combination of your choice. Again, after giving the preference you have to lock your given subject combination status through email given by the faculty of social science. Again , in evening or night of that respective day you got a confirm subject combination of yours at portal i.e; Banaras Hindu University : Entrance Exam . Now, at this stage after submitting the prescribed fee you may go home. You will have to come again for alloting hostel. Allotting hostel sololy depends upon your marks obtained in entrance exam. In my time in 2017 cut off marks for first hostel whose name is AND was 240 and the subsequent whose name is SMD was 221. So, if your marks lie above 240 or 221 you may get hostel. Cut off marks may vary every year depending upon the vastness of entrance exam, but I think twill be around the above mentioned. And then you can get admission in Asia's largest residential university i.e; Banaras Hindu University
