Hello aspirant
Both BBA (Bachelors in Business Administration) and BBM (Bachelors in Business Management) are undergraduate level degrees focused upon business and its various aspects. Both the degrees have a duration of three years.
The core subjects covered in both degrees are accounting, finance, marketing, business law, human resources, and operations. One can further opt for MBA after the completion of either of the degrees.
There is no significant difference between the courses.
BBA has more focus on Administration . Most of the colleges also include an organization study in the last semester. BBA also includes skills for entrepreneurship. A student who has a BBA degree is well-capable of opening his/her own business and run it efficiently.
BBM has more focus on Management . The students with a BBM degree can effectively manage a well-settled business but they might not be able to open a business of their own. This course lacks the entrepreneurship component. The focus is on corporate management and this limits this course to the corporate sector.
Also, the students of BBM can further go for MS in finance or accounting or apply for fr banking jobs.
One other difference that used to exist was that BBM had specifications such as Human Resources, Finance, Operations and more, but this has changed now. Many colleges offer specializations in BBA as well. There has been a rise in many new specifications in BBA such as international finance and business.
The career prospects are also the same. Both the courses attract manufacturing companies, financial concerned organization, banks, PSUs, NGOs, MNCs and more.
Thus, the courses BBA and BBM are very similar in terms of their structure and curriculum, especially in India.
BBA is more prevalent in India. The options of colleges and universities for BBA are also more. Specifications are also available within BBA. Most of the BBA students get placed and the rest of them further prepare for MBA.
Thus, BBA would be a better option and if you have any specific field in mind, then you can look for colleges that provide BBA with that specialization.
I hope that I have answered your doubts,
If you have questions, please reply in the comment section.
Hi
That really depends on what do you want to do in the future. Both are equally good & lead to different fields later on.
BBA awards students with skills in Administration where as BBM makes the student capable with skills on management aspects.
BBM provides specialization in a variety of areas such as Human Resources, operation, finance, and marketing where as BBA does not meet this criteria.
