Hello there.
In the University of Delhi for MA, there are two courses in Psychology. first, is General Psychology and the other one is Applied Psychology, General Psychology course is available at North Campus whereas in South Campus there is applied psychology. There are somewhere around 100 seats in North Camps for the course and around 30 seats in South Campus.
Both the courses have a duration of two years comprising of a total of four semesters. In North Campus, in General Psychology, in each semester out of eight topics, you will have to choose four. Hence, in each semester you would have 4 theory topics and 4 related practicals. In South Campus, there is a well structured specified syllabus and you will get to choose your specialization in the third semester, specialization can be chosen from Clinical, Social, Industrial Psychology.
There are two different entrance examinations for both the courses. The syllabus of the entrance examination would cover the whole content of your graduation. Also, the exam would be of MCQ type. The eligibility for the above is 55% in graduation (preferably in Psychology).
For the preparation of the entrance examinations the following books might be helpful:
1. Introduction to Psychology- Morgan and King
2. Social Psychology- Arun Kumar Singh
3. Abnormal Psychology - Butcher (Pearson publications)
4. Industrial Psychology - Ghosh and Ghorpade
5. Statistics- A K Singh
6. Objective Psychology - RPH Editorial board
The examination of North Campus is of easier level as compared to that of South Campus. The entrance exams would be conducted in the month of MAy for which the applications would start around April. Chandigarh University has a similar two year MA course in Psychology. The eligibility criteria for the same is
Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST category ) OR Bachelor's of Arts with Psychology as compulsory subject with 50% marks. As per the official website of Chandigarh University, there is no entrance test for admission into MA, it is on a merit basis. Just go on to the official website. click on the admission's tab and apply online.
