The National Defence Academy located in Pune is the Joint Services academy of the Indian Armed Forces, where cadets of the three services, the Army, the Navy, and the Air Force are trained together before they go for further training in their respective fields.

The written exam of NDA has two Papers 1) Maths (300 marks) and 2) General Ability Test(600 marks). The questions are objective type and also bears negative marking.

For appearing and preparing yourself for the exam, the institutes that are pioneers in training include:

a) Doon Defence Academy (DDA) in Dehradun.

b) The Cavalier: The course is of duration almost like two months. They offer to coach for SSB interviews as well.

There are two branches: Rajouri Garden Branch, C-73, Shardapuri, Raja Garden and 632, Dr. Mukherjee Nagar, New Delhi .

The fee structure is for 55 days (24,000 and GST) .

c) Olive Greens: This also covers coaching for SSB interviews in addition to covering all aspects of the NDA written exam.

d) AFPA in Nagpur:

It is located in the outskirts of Nagpur (45km from the city) .

In year 1, the fee is Rs.2,10,000 while in year 2 it is Rs.1,95,000.

c) Read a few books like Wren & Martin for concepts of grammar. more useful as it has previous year questions of NDA exam. The book is authentic in its answers and explanations.

d) For the GK paper, you can refer to the book of Lucent Publications. Keep yourself updated by reading the newspaper every day.
