Dear Abhishek,
B.f. Tech from NIFT includes textiles, garment engineering, creative, management and advanced IT subjects subjects specifically for the fashion industry. It is about aesthetic consumer taste.
Engineering or B. tech, on the other hand, is more about physics, chemistry, and mathematics. It is about how to upgrade technological resources.
To decide among these, consider the following factors,
1- Find your interest area.
This advice you must have got from many people but finding interest area itself is a difficult task. According to me, you can go through the syllabus of both your options. Read about the subjects and terminologies you don't understand from google. This would give you an idea about your interest area.
2- Make an analysis of where do you want to see yourself in the upcoming years and what all goals do you want to achieve.
3- Also, another important factor is the institute. Any institution can be analyzed on the basis of factors like ranking, fee structure, facilities, exposure, faculty.
4- Try finding alumni of both the courses of the colleges in your option and ask them your doubts.
5- Look at the pros or cons of both the courses according to your decisions on the above points so that when you are prioritizing you suffer minimum loss.
Any carrier option is made 'best' by students.
Best of luck!
