Banaras Hindu University is a public central university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. It was established in 1916 by Madan Mohan Malaviya.With over 30,000 students residing in campus, it claims the title of largest residential university in Asia. Banaras Hindu University conducts national level undergraduate (UET) and postgraduate (PET) entrance tests usually during May–June for admission for which registrations begin usually in February–March.Admissions are done according to merit in the entrance tests, subject to fulfilling of other eligibility requirements. Admissions to B.Tech./B.Pharm., M.Tech./M.Pharm. are done through JEE and GATE respectively. Admission to MBA and MBA-IB are done through IIM-CAT score and also through separate BHU-MBA entrance tests. Admissions for Ph.D are done on the basis of either qualification of National Eligibility Test (NET) by the candidates or through the scores of CRET (Common Research Entrance Test). Admissions in IMS are done through PMT exam. BHU UET B.Sc exam paper is divided into three categories:
*Physics
*Chemistry
*Mathematics
Duration for each paper is 50 minutes, consisting of 50 questions, 3 marks each. Total number of questions is 150. Total marks is 450.
Marking System –
*Each correct answer fetches 3 marks.
*There is negative marking ,1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
*Unattempted question will be awarded zero mark.
Syllabus for Mathematics: Differential Equations, Statistics And Probability, Permutation & Combination, Integral Calculus, Mathematical Induction, Complex Numbers, Sets, Relations And Functions, Mathematical Reasoning, Trigonometry, Three dimensional Coordinate Geometry, Binomial Theorem And Its Simple Applications, Matrix & Determinants, Limit, Continuity And Differentiability, Co-Ordinate Geometry, Vector Algebra, Sequence & Series.
Syllabus for Chemistry: Chemical Kinetics, Equilibrium, Purification And Characterisation Of Organic Compounds, Chemistry In Everyday Life, p – Block Elements, Organic Compounds Containing Nitrogen, Biomolecules, Organic Compounds Containing Halogens, Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure, Co-Ordination Compounds, Electrochemistry, Environmental chemistry, Hydrocarbons, d – And f – Block Elements, Polymers, Atomic Structure, Some Basic Principles Of Organic Chemistry, Some Basic Concepts In Chemistry, Solutions, Principles and Processes of Isolation of Elements, Hydrogen.
