SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST ) is a deemed university, formerly known as SRM University is located in Kattankulathur, Kanchipuram, near Chennai. It was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, under the University of Madras. SRMIST campuses are present at Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani Campus – all in and around Chennai and Modinagar, NCR, Delhi. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission.  SRMIST courses are offered at the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level in Engineering, Management, Medicine and Health Sciences, and Science and Humanities.
