BIT Mesra is ranked consistently among top engineering colleges in the country. This is the reason generally the crowd is good as top ranked students get into this. So one can find students from all over India with different talents and get to work with them. BIT Mesra is not a Tier-1 college. It is currently ranked at 46th place in NIRF Rankings 2021 among top engineering colleges. ... Tier - 1: Old IITs, IIIT Hyderabad, IIIT Delhi, TIFR, CMI, ISI Kolkata.

Now coming to faculties they are above average at best. Academic load is more compared with other NIT’s and closely ranked colleges.

But mind you, max of the good companies are for CSE and IT. Some for ECE. You leave them aside, the placement scene is pretty dull and chimeric for other branches. Average package comes down to 4 LPA. In branches like mechanical and chemical only about 50% max students were placed. So if you do not belong to the so called “Star” branches, have reality in your head and work hard according to your goals.
