Books required for Btech(ECE) first year

Without the name of the university or a picture of the syllabus, it is really hard to recommend.
Usually, the first semester in an engineering course will not deep-dive into your specialization (ECE here). Rather, you will learn general things that apply to all streams of engineering - e.g., drawing in different perspectives, basic physics, applied mathematics, English for professional purposes.
And coming to the books that are recommended, I would recommend following the textbooks provided by the university. From here, you can move towards exam specific books if you just want to score high marks (or) you can try the additional reference books if you want more knowledge on the topic.
