Hello

No MHCET is not necessary for BSC but 12th marks matter a lot. If you take 12th lightly you will have to compromise a lot. And even if you give MHCET as a try but have given board exams with full focus, you can still have a decent score and get admission in BSC course. After all  MHCET is based on 12th syllabus only.

No MHT CET Entrance examination not necessary for get admission for B.Sc course. You can get direct admission based on 12th standard score.

Based on your query, i am assuming that you are from Maharashtra.
See, it is not compulsory to appear in MHT CET for admission on in any college for B.Sc course.
But it is advisable to appear because most of the renowned and reputed colleges offer admission only to candidate having a valid MHT CET score
But there are lots of private colleges that will offer you admission based on your 12th board percentage.
