Hello jahangeer,

The BSC agriculture general is like a professional course and there is an entrance exam for this course whereas the BSC agriculture hona is a degree course and admission in it can be based on merit Or entrance exam.

There is not any major difference in both these but there is more scope in BSC agriculture general.

Bsc agriculture general is better in theory as well as practical as compared to bsc agriculture hons.

There are no much more different, But the Honors degree students need to study

more papers than normal degree students it will be an advantage for the students

Bachelor of Agriculture is an Undergraduate Academic Degree which is awarded

for a course or program in the field of Agriculture. The bachelor degree course of

Agriculture is known as B.Sc. Ag. or B.Sc. (Agri) which is an abbreviated form of

Bachelor of Agricultural Science. Before 1998, B.Sc. Ag. degree was known

as  B.Sc  Ag. & AH (AH= Animal Husbandry) but soon it was designated as B.Sc. Ag.

and the 'AH' part was transferred to B.VSc. (Bachelor of veterinary sciences), which

is now designated as B.VSc. & AH. However, some Institutes may have retained BSc.

Ag. in Animal husbandry and Nutrition. The duration of B.Sc. Ag. is 4 years divided

into a number of semesters, which are mostly 8 in number. B.Sc. Agriculture course

syllabus covers a variety of topics related to design and production of agricultural

machinery, planning, design and construction of farm buildings and associated

equipment, irrigation, drainage, land resource planning and service engineering for

farm machinery.

B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture or Bachelor of Science Honours in

Agriculture is an undergraduate Agriculture Science and Technology course. The

duration of the course is three years (four years program in some

colleges).  B.Sc  (Hons)Agriculture includes the study of various methods of

agriculture, the use of modern fertilizers for the improvement of crops and the ways

to improve the present technique of Agriculture with the help of modern technology.

The study under B.Sc. in Agriculture (Honours) includes use of various technological

aspects for the betterment of agriculture. It opens many career scopes for the

candidates after its successful completion. The course is also available through

correspondence in a number of Institutes.

You will have lot many opportunities if you hold a degree in agricultural sciences say

examination for recruitment in the Indian Forest Services, for which one of the

educational qualifications required is Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture so you can
