Dear Aspirant ,

BSc Agricuture is a 4 year undergraduate programme. You can pursue careers in agricultural practices and their benifits, agribusiness , seed technology ,plant pathology, analysts and research. You can work in  various departments ranging from business prospects of agricultural practices to technical aspects .

Basic average cost of this course throughout India is Rs. 2 to 3 lakhs .

The scope in this field is wide as you know agriculture is our contry's backbone and majority of the population is employed here , so taking up this field you can develop new technologies and take up researches to work for better oppurtunities for the farmers. If salary is your concern that i will list some high and good paying jobs in this sector- Agricultural officer( Rs 8to 14 LPA) , ICAR scientist ( Rs.7 to 14 LPA),Agricultural Analyst( 4.2 LPA to 6LPA) .

Btech in food technology is a 4 year Undergraduate course .It is a reasearch oriented and versatile field were you work from testing flavours and food products to working towards research and developement of a healthy and better quality eating lifestyle .

The basic fee of this course ranges somewhere between Rs 40k to Rs 1 lakh. The admission is merit based and entrance based.

The scope is very wide is since graduates and post graduates from this field are required almost everywhere be it government or private sector. You can work as a food consultant ,Production manager, process engineer and work in Food microbiology centres, Assurance companies , technical sales outlets etc.

So you see the scope is qually good in both the fields and in my opinion both are very interesting fields and either field you choose you wont regret it . Since we know a lot is to be done for our agricultural sector to make them at par with international standards so the scope is good in India . Whereas , food technology is a very promising and prominent field . As we are approaching towards a healthy liftstyle , people are becoming aware and conscious of they eat so there is a need of good food technologists !.

Hope this helps

Thank you

Hello,

A BSc or BTech degree has advantages and disadvantages. BTech in FT will land you a well-paying job in India or a foreign company in a short period of time if you have the personality to face interviews and the resources to move around. However, in my opinion, unless you obtain an MBA at some point in your career, your growth in a straight jacketed industry will not be very spectacular in a 15–20 year time frame.

A BSc in Agri is a more general degree with a lot of room for specialisation. The job scope is immediately reduced, but it is easier to write for competitive exams such as civils and banks. With additional studies, you could become a microbiologist, economist, geneticist, or research scientist.

In my opinion BSC agriculture will be a better option.
