At first I want to tell you about the B.Sc in Biotechnology under Amritha University . You have to pass your higher Secondary Examination with 60% marks in aggregate. You must have Physics, Chemistry and Biology as mandatory subjects during your Higher Secondary course. Then you have to crack the entrance exam which is taken by Amritha University itself and after that you have to appear in counselling process and you need to pass it. In this way you can get the chance to take admission in this University for B.Sc in Biotechnology. You can't use mobile phones. It is completely banned on the campus. You may get the permission of using mobile phones in the hostel during specific times. The infrastructure if this university is highly admirable. Placement chances are quite low after bachelor's degree. The recruiting companies are Agilent Technology, Amazon, Anthem Bio Sciences, Bio Genex, Biocon, Cognizant, Dell, Dr Reddys Laboratories Ltd, Ford Motors, Genentech, Google, IBM, Idea Cellular Services, Infosys, Life Technologies, Monsanto, Oracle, Piramal Healthcare, SAP and Wipro. The course duration is 3 years. The total fees of this course is INR 3.94 Lakh.

Now I am going to tell about B.Tech in biotechnology under SRM University . You have to clear your Higher Secondary examination with 50% marks in aggregate. You must have Physics, Chemistry and Biology as the mandatory subjects during your higher secondary program. The course duration is four years. The total fees of this course is INR 10.00 Lakh. The placement rate is very high here and also the faculties are good. Almost 100% students got placed from this university. The recruiting companies are ACCENTURE, Aditya Birla Group, Apollo, Canon, Deloitte, Dr Reddys Laboratories Ltd, HONEYWELL, IBM, Infosys, JK Tyres, Just Dial, Prestige, Royal Enfield, SONY, Sutherland, TCS, Tech Mahindra and ICICI.

In my opinion pursuing B.Tech Biotechnology in SRM University is a better than pursuing B.Sc Biotechnology in Amritha University. It will be more helpful. All the best for your future.

* Btech biotechnology in SRM University :

• Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology is a full-time four-year course degree offered by SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai.
• The selection is based on SRMJEEE or JEE entrance exam.
• Eligibility Criteria is minimum 50% aggregate in PCM / PCB (1) Passed in the Higher secondary examination (10+2 pattern ) or appearing in Higher Secondary examination in the current academic year with Physics, Chemistry and  Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology as major subjects in a regular stream from any state board within India, CBSE, ISCE, Matriculation, or NIOS (2) GCE A-level or International Baccalaureate(IB) diploma or IB certificate with Physics, Chemistry,  Mathematics or Biology as major subjects in any International schools within India.
• B.Tech. Biotechnology is exclusively focused in bridging bio-sciences and engineering. Multiple paths have been embedded in the design of the curriculum and created a flexible educational experience comprising biosciences credentials like microbiology and immunology, biochemistry, molecular biology & genetic engineering, plant and animal cell & tissue culture, genomics and proteomics, IPR and bioethics and bioengineering like bioprocess technology, downstream processing, unit operations along with chemical engineering, mathematics and basic engineering subjects. Both the institute and courses are very good. But in my opinion You should go for B.Tech Biotechnology in SRM University. This is one of a world class university. It will provide you a best placement after B.Tech only. If you go for B.Sc then you have to do Masters for a better future. So, in every campus of SRM university will provide you a healthy atmosphere. It will also provide you all the facilities you need as a student. The salary package is very good. The faculties are very much well educated so you can learn very well
