Programme Educational Objectives :

Course details :
- Bachelor of Technology in Biotechnology is four years (8 Semester) full-time undergraduate engineering course offered by Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala and approved by AICTE.
Admission Process :
- 70% of the available seats shall be filled on the basis of merit of NEET.
- 30% of the available seats shall be filled on the basis of merit of marks secured in 10+2 or equivalent examination.
Eligibility Criteria :
- 70% of the available seats in BTech (Biotechnology) and BTech (Biomedical Engineering) shall be filled on the basis of merit of NEET.
- 30% of the available seats in BTech (Biotechnology) and BTech (Biomedical Engineering) shall be filled on the basis of merit of marks secured in 10+2 or equivalent examination in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry and, Biology.
* According to my opinion, both the above universities have their own plus points & advantages in terms of providing with best education, infrastructure & positive atmosphere. But I personally feel & will strongly recommend to go for Btech Biotechnology in Thapar University as it is the best between the two according to me.

Hi,
Well it depends on what field you are interested in. If you want to pursue the academic field and want more exposure to the academic domain then I would suggest you to go for the B.Sc. in biotechnology course or if you want technical knowledge and a professional degree then opt B. Tech. In terms of university both of them stand kind of like on the same level.
