BSC BOTANY OR BSC CS / IT SALARY AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES

B.Sc Botany is a pure science field and B.Sc computer science/IT is a professional course, so the scope will according to that. In general computer science is considered to be a highly demanding job area with a lot of possibilities as in this era technology stands ahead of every other field. So you will have many opportunities after B.Sc computer science from a good institute. In addition if you do courses like MCA or M.Sc computer science ,information tech,or statistics, your job prospects will be much better. After B.Sc you can work as Software Developer ,Computer Systems Analysts ,Network Administrators , Programmer ,Technical Consultant ,Database Administrator, Hardware Engineer, Web Designer/Web Developer etc. The salary will depend on the company you work in but on an average the initial salary can start from 3-3.5 lakhs and can go up to 7-9 lakhs with up gradation of skills and experience in a short period.

Coming to botany, it is a very good field if you are interested in research . There are various entry level positions you can join in both private and government sector such as research assistant, junior analyst etc. But in botany you would have better job prospects if you do masters. Or you can take up B.Ed and become biology teacher in schools. Ecologist ,Plant Biochemist ,Researcher ,Environmental consultant etc are some job roles in general and the salary may vary between 2 lakhs to 5 lakhs per annum depending on the organization.

So I suggest you to research more on the specific area or sector you want to work in and decide , while deciding , consider your interest as well , as without interest it will be difficult to flourish in any field. Try to join for B.Sc honours instead of general as the former has much better recognition.
