Hello dear student,
Both are entirely different courses. BCA is bachelor in computer applications while bsc forestry is entirely different on the other side. Chose the course which you want to persuade and you are interested in also. If you are interested in computer application the. For for BCA while bsc forestry is something related to environment and our wild life biosphere reserve, national parks etc . While there are different job opportunities in both of them while in both the courses you can apply for the government exams if you want to for heigher posts .
Best wishes

Hi Pallavi,
BCA graduates have goodscopein jobs as a Web Developer, Web Designer, Network Administrator, System Manager, Computer Programmer, Software Developer, Software Tester, etc depending on the skills you acquire during yourBCA. Various companies, organizations, and MNCs offer the above-mentioned jobs to BCA candidates. Whereas, when it comes to bsc forestry, there are very limited options after B Sc Forestry degree because of following reasons;
In nut shell, the Degree program like BSc forestry should only be for the already selected Government people. The people who are very passionate about Forest/ Evironment issues may also choose the course. Otherwise, for students looking at BSc Forestry for career point of view, its all no.
Hope this helps.. All the best..

Various companies, organizations, and MNCs offer the above-mentioned jobs to BCA candidates. Whereas, when it comes to bsc forestry, there are very limited options after B Sc Forestry degree because of following reasons;
- Around 95% of forest area is Government owned and therefore the overall management & utilisation of forest resources is in hands of Forest Department exclusively. The role of private sector in Forestry is very limited due their access to privately owned plantations only. Though, its a known fact that in general, number of jobs available in private sector is much higher as compared to Government sector, but in case of forestry its just reverse.
- There is no preference to Forestry graduates in Government Jobs related to Forest.
- The overall share of forestry sector in GDP is not even 2% and therefore to make a career in such under-performing or less potential sector seems to be risky.
- The number of teaching jobs is also very less, as number of institutions having this course/ degree is quite less. Though, here mostly forestry graduates are selected for teaching positions.
- There are few jobs for forestry graduates like in Paper companies (Plantation and Raw Material)- preferred IIFM grads, Agri & Plantation related companies like DS Group (Rajnigandha fame), reputed NGOs like FES, JBF, WOTR, AKRSP, GIZ, etc.
In nut shell, the Degree program like BSc forestry should only be for the already selected Government people. The people who are very passionate about Forest/ Evironment issues may also choose the course. Otherwise, for students looking at BSc Forestry for career point of view, its all no.
