The Thapar University is situated in Patiala and was founded in 1956. This university is accredited with A+ Grade from NAAC and approved by the AICTE. The duration of this course is 4 years and it is an Undergraduate course. The total fee of this course is roughly around Rs. 13.23 Lakhs.
Admission process-
To get admission to Thapar University you need to apply online, fill the application forms with the required information. And the admission is done based on the rank obtained by the aspirant in JEE Mains. The Thapar University also has provisions of direct admission for the first five toppers of the recognized boards of India. With a condition that the aspirant must have appeared in JEE Mains but the entrance score of such students shall not be necessary for admission. It has 60 seats. Out of that 70% of the available seats shall be filled based on the merit of NEET and 30% of the available seats shall be filled based on the marks secured in 10+2 or equivalent examination.

B.Sc in Biotechnology also is a nice choice. The Manipal School of Life Sciences was constructed in 2002 and it became an autonomous college in 2006. The Manipal School of Life Sciences is recognized by the UGC, and it offers 8-10 courses across 2 streams. B.Sc in Biotechnology is a graduation level course with a duration of 3 years. And the total fee of this course is approximately Rs. 4.2 Lakhs.

To be very honest Btech degree is far better than BSc degree in every sense. No matter what but one extra year add more opportunities for you to cherish. If you will ask me I will suggest you to go for Btech degree from Thappar University.
The college also matters but I believe course structure matters more. If Manipal University offers Btech in Biotechnology I will suggest you to go for it.
Else Thappar University is also really good to with your undergraduate studies.
