Both chemical engineering and computer engineering are good options but scope wise always computer science stands ahead. Because the field has a very wide scope and demand. Moreover , in any decent college , you can expect very good college placements for CSE more than chemical. Moreover, the salary packages offered will be good.Chemical engineers too have good scope in design, operation, troubleshooting and safety of unit operations in several fields like oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food processing and fertilizers. The starting salary is 3-4 lakhs per annum and highest can go up to 14-15 lakhs in computer engineering . A chemical engineer can expect an average starting salary of 2,40,000 and the highest salaries can exceed up to 12,00,000 per annum. So basically , computer engineering is a very good choice but you should give importance to your interests too. Be it any field , if you are smart enough you can make the best out of it.
