If it is so, then follow my answer.

Since UPSC is not an easy exam, you have to put in a lot of effort to manage both BTech and UPSC. You cant afford to lose either of them.

So, Get Hindu newspaper and make it sure to read all the important news and make not of it. This can keep you updated in current affairs.

Your NCERT books of class 6 - 12 are the best for all upsc exams. So never neglect NCERT books. Make a thorough study of it. This will the core for you social - history , polity, economy, geography. It is the only best book.

For aptitude, comprehension and basic numery, all your engineering subjects are enough. I would say more than enough. Because, it is just test for aptitude and basic problem solving abilities. WHich engineers do every day.

For science and math, be thorough with portions of class (till) 12th and also that of engineering. So it will help you a lot.

NOTE: This is not exact preparation for IAS, I just gave an idea for how to prepare during BTech. So, the best thing would be, make some preparation during BTech and make the best after you BTech. You have to prepare exclusively for UPSC to clear your IAS exams and interview which always follows.
