Hello Aspirant,
In terms of Job, career growth and salary. BCA is not enough. BCA+MCA is said to be important for a good career in IT industry. Now the most important aspect about MCA is, You must pursue it from a renowned college.
B.Tech being a 4 year course, gives you time advantage of getting a job much earlier compared to MCA, which ends on a 3+3 formula with BCA and MCA taking three years each. So any advantage that MCA students have in terms of securing higher package due to PG degree is neutralized by two year work experience that B.Tech offers.
MCA is a post graduate degree and therefore academically more superior to B.Tech IT. However, the discussion doesn’t end there, as on practical note, when it comes to job opportunities and placements, both the degrees are considered to be equal by recruiters.
As the average salary offered to engineer graduates is of 20k-25k whereas for MCA graduates its about 10k-15k. So if you want to score high with the salary offered then you should go for B Tech Courses.
Hope this proves useful. Feel free to ask more questions.
Have a good day!
