By cast I am general. But my income is below 5 Lakh. Am I EWS category? My son got 98.01 percentile in JEE Mains paper 2 for B Arch from Assam. May my son will get seat in NIT.

Congratulations for your son's score.

As per rules EWS stands for Economically Weaker Section. In India, EWS is a subcategory of people who belong to General Category and have an annual income less than Rs. 8 lakhs and do not belong to any other reserved category such as SC, ST, OBC.

Regarding getting seat in NITs , Yes, there are more probabilities to your son to get an NIT seat. But while option entry in JOSAA, be cautious and check all the cutoffs.
