The difference in the cut off scores for a GENERAL CATEGORY candidate and for an OBC CATEGORY candidates is marginal if not absolutely significant.

You should consider scoring around 570 (preferably above 570) to increase your odds of selection through the All India 15 %quota.

There might be a slight decrease in the cut off scores at 85% state quota level, which again depends on a number of factors.

Target on achieving the above mentioned marks to keep yourself on a safer side.

It depends on your merit, you category, your state of domicile, difficulty level of NEET, and cutoff score for various colleges.

However, if you are aiming for a decent seat in any college of India through all India quota, try to have a score of 550 to 600. For state quota, a marks between 500 to 550 is good.

All the best.

Dear Sunny,

There is nothing called passing marks in NEET Exam. In NEET, it is qualifying marks rather which is 50th percentile for general category and 40th percentile for reserved categories. Try to score 520+. Then you'll definitely get a good medical college.
If you want to score good marks in NEET then just follow simple steps -
Clear your basic concepts.
Be thorough with NCERT textbook. Its a must.
Solve previous year question papers.
Take mock tests to assess your progress.
Solve questions from any reference book you prefer for competitive exams
Solve as much as numerical possible.
Use shortcuts to solve to save your time. Formulas to be at your Fingertips.
Best of luck !

I know NEET is round the corner and you might be apprrehensive about admissions but please take note that every year the cut off varies depending on the level of the exam. So the best bet is to simply concentrate and revise all the syllabus.

Best of luck.

Hey,

aim for 550+ marks. These marks will keep you on safe side, and you will be able to choose and get govt. Medical college within your state or out of your state.

Al the best.l

Hey Sunny,

Based on last year's trends (2017) the cut off rank to secure a seat in a MBBS college under OBC through 15% All India Quota was 5878 which corresponds to a score of approximately 510.

According to these trends, you must focus to score above 530 to secure a seat in a good government College through All India Quota.

Focus on your preparations now rather than the results. Give it your best shot. Stick to NCERT texts. Revise and Re-learn your topics and keep solving your questions. All the very best for your Preparations!
