yes of course you cAN learn sas programiing. see r programming, sas programming , python, rasberry pi etc is the base program to learn data science, big data analytics etc. I think you need to learn a basic programming then you can learn the application, first try to learn python. python has wide area of application, then you may decide which area you may want to join.
you may learn distance learning courses on data science from IIIT bangalore.
