Yes. You can get placed in gigantic tech companies like the ones you mentioned even if you are not from core IT or CS background. Only you need to convince the employers of your skill set. If you have good logical & analytical skills, problem solving & troubleshooting skills. They check how curious you are to solve a given situation & the flexibility you show goes a long way in determining your future too. You can definitely get placed in these big companies irrespective of your different background. There are many examples of students like this in the IT industry.

Its possible but you need to prove that you are good at CS skills in form of a quality resume.
Participate in coding contests , do online courses like on coursera , if possible do some open source development and prepare hard for interviews. If you have known people working there get in touch and get referred.
But even if you don't manage to get into likes of mentioned above , you can easily get a company where there's good work and compensation.

Yes you may sit for the placement if your college allows you it. So please approach your Placement and Training cell and let them know of your interest to sit for the placement. Also if you are good at coding and you have a particular dream company that you want to work for you can approach them directly by writing to their HR.
