Hi
Yes, you can do B tech in biotechnology.
The course you choose is a reflection of your passion for that discipline. There are many students who were not from math background, and they are doing well. But let me make it clear. The coursework tests you equally on both life sciences knowledge as well as the application part of it. The application part mostly comprises of subjects like biothermodynamics, Mass and Heat transfer, chemical reaction Engineering etc. Which require a thorough understanding of mathematics, physics and chemistry also. Calculus is something that you will face at least 30% of the subjects. So you have to be ready for it.
School of Biosciense and technology allows you to take bridge course in basic mathematics in the first semester itself in order to make you fairly competent for the further course work.
You can always manage even if you are from a pure Bio background.
Being a Biology student you can pursue Btech Biotechnology in VIT. There both math and biology students are eligible for btech biotechnology.
But, You have to be ready and determined to face the challenges of mathematics.
Good evening
Yes!! you can a pure Biology student without Maths background in +2 can definitely go for Biotechnology. Biotechnology students are taught a preliminary Mathematics course before Calculus is offered. There are many students in Biotech with a Biology background. So, it won't be difficult as not much higher Maths is involved in Biotechnology B.Tech level.
