Hope you are doing good. See to become an IAS officer you have to qualify upsc cse exam which is of three phases:
1-Preliminary
2-Mains
3-Interview
Now coming into these phases if I tell you the overview then you have to qualify the preliminary exam and it's of qualifying nature in itself only then you can enter into second stage and then the third that's interview.
Now coming to the preparation point of view you have to study some common subjects which mostly comes from the humanities background and then in mains you have to choose your optional paper of any stream.
So in this whole process your past stream doesn't becomes the obstacle from any stream you're you can give this exam.

Yes , a Commerce student being a Graduate, is eligible for IAS or IPS entrance exam.IAS/IPS - Indian Administrative Service/Indian Police Service and to become an IAS/IPS officer one has to crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC every year.
Students from any stream who have completed their Graduation with 50% & above marks are eligible to sit for the IAS Exam which conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission). There is no prerequisite regarding subjects which must be mandatorily studied.
