Can a CSE student in hostel use Desktop pc? Is it normal to use a desktop in hostel instead of laptop for a CSE student?

This may depend upon your college hostel. You should call them up and ask whether they will let you set up a desktop in your room and you may require to take permission for the same.

But I would suggest that having a laptop is more convenient as you can carry it around with you like when you go to the college, or library or have to travel.

But if you think you need a desktop, then call the hostel management and ask them if you will get permission for the same.

I hope my answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!

Dear student,

I haven't seen anyone using desktop in their hostels, generally people use laptops because they are easy to handle and take up less space. Also if you get a small room then it would be difficult for you to fit a desktop in it. However you may ask your hostel authorities regarding this issue, might be they would understand your issue and grant you the permission. There is no harm in giving a try. We cannot assure you of anything because each hostel has different rules.
