Can a female lieutenant officer after clearing CDS take retirement from army .... can give upsc and appointed as an IAS ?
Hey Aditi,
Mere getting selected cannot make you an Army officer. You need to get into Officers Training Academy, Chennai for 9-11 months of hard training. Under the circumstance conditions also, no candidate is allowed to leave training in between. However, you can do so after completing the training. You will not get a sort of retirement or pension facility, it will be called a resignation and you need to submit it in Army Headquarters. Further, you can surely appear for UPSC CSE and be an IAS Officer. There is no such restriction to do so. However, if you are really focused for IAS, then it will be better to pursue it further, because if you leave army after getting selected and training, you may take a place from an another candidate having this dream and is sincere to pursue it.
