students belonging to commerce background are eligible to join the Officer's Training Academy also known as OTA. To be able to join OTA you will be required to appear for Combined Defense Service also known as CDS Examination which is conducted twice every year by UPSC.
The age eligibility for this examination is that candidates appearing for the exam are required to be in the age limit between 18 to 22 years.

Females are allowed to join the force from the OTA exam. And the CDS eligibility for females is different than for men. The CDS physical eligibility for a female is:
For the Indian Navy, an engineering degree from a recognised university is required.
For in the Indian Airforce a graduation or bachelor degree of engineering is must with Physics and Mathematics compulsory as subjects in 12th grade.
The age criteria are different for each service is different. For the Indian army, it is 19-24, for the Indian Navy, it is 19-24.
For Indian Air Force it is 20-24 and the upper age is relaxable up to 26 years only for those who hold a current and valid commercial pilot license that is issued by DGCA (INDIA)
For OTA (female and male) it is 19-25.

The eligibility criteria to be eligible for OTA through CDS is that a candidate must have passed bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognised board. Candidates can pass 10+2 in any stream. There isn't any specific eligible requirement for 10+2. Female and male candidates are eligible for Officers Training Academy through CDS. Candidates who are in final year of the qualifying exam are also eligible. The age must be in between 19 years to 25 years. So if you have passed bachelor's degree you are eligible to appear for CDS even if you have passed 10+2 with Commerce.
No, The girl must be having her Bachelor's completed from a recognized University or Equivalent Institute. But if she has taken commerce from 11th and continue to do her bachelor's after that she is eligible for the exam.
