No, you cannot do a lateral entry for M.tech .
After completion of MCA degree, you can do M.Tech course through GATE exam. You can start M.Tech course from 1st semester.

GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

If you have Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Architecture/Design or its equivalent or masters degree in science department then are eligible for GATE exam.

There are no restriction for attempts in GATE exam.You can apply any number of time. There is no age criteria but your minimum age must be above 18 years.
M.Tech means Master of Technology and the duration of this course is two years. The course is divided into four semesters.

Eligibility Criteria:

The candidate should have completed Engineering or Technology or M.Sc or MCA from a recognized university or equivalent qualification. No percentage bar are required to apply for this examination. Final year of degree course may also apply.

To get admission in M.Tech course, you need to crack the entrance examination, which is conducted by their respective university. The notification will be publication in the month of March or April in the official website of respective university.
