Can a non healing fracture will cause a problem in medical and some suggestion to overcome it...
Hello aspirant
With modern treatment methods , most broken bones ( fractures) heal without any problems. After a broken bones us treated, new tissue begins tonfirm and connect the broken pieces.
Some broken bones do not heal even when they get the best surgical or non surgical treatment. In some cases certain risk factors make it more likely that a bone will fail to heal. When a broken bones fails to heal it is called " nonunion." A delayed union is when a fracture takes longer than usual to heal. Most fractures do not lead to infections. When infections do occur after fractured, the treatment and recovery can be prolonged and complicated.
Infections occur after fractured because bacteria enter the body during the traumatic event. Bacteria can also enter the body during surgery to set the broken bones .
Risk factors - The infections after fractured include
Diabetes mallitus
HIV
Rheumatoid arthritis.
Treatment - Non healing fractures or bone infections require long term antibiotic treatment . A patient with bone surgery may need to take antibiotics for the rest of his life.
Outcome- An infection which is treated successfully almost all patients recover without serious ongoing problems.
Hii!
There is no mention as such for the people suffering from non healing fracture in the admission criteria of any medical çourse. I dont think There should be a problem other than the suffering the person goes thorough.
Generally surgeries and cell regeneration therepies are the ways to get it cured as much as possible. You may contact the respective College authorities and get your doubt cleared on this matter.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
